I have heard a lot of really good things about Carluccio’s and have always wanted to go there so when mum and I were on a recent shopping trip in Cambridge, we both knew that it was the best decision for our sanity to pop in for lunch. It was a gorgeous sunny day so we sat outside and watched the world go by.
We ordered the “Deluxe”, an antipasto to share which included roasted peppers, Napoli and Milano salami, chargrilled vegetables, pancetta wrapped prawns, warm baked spiced ricotta, marinated olives and toasted Italian bread. It was absolutely mouthwatering as you can see from the photos and was perfect for a hot day and two indecisive shoppers.
We also ordered some bruschetta which was smothered in fresh ripe tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil and oregano.
This lovely lady is my best friend as well as my mum and she’s learning to put up with my incessant photographing of her food before she’s allowed to dig in. Sorry mum!
Although we were pretty full from our starters, we ordered the homemade ravioli to share which was filled with spinach and ricotta, served in the traditional way with butter and sage. My only wish was that there should have been more of it!
When I went inside to find the bathroom, I had to pick my jaw up from the floor and rush back outside to grab my camera in order to take photos of the obscene desserts that Carluccio’s have to offer.
They made me want to rush straight home and get baking!
